False stories asserting that Seattle Seahawks players burnt the American flag surfaced online following President Donald Trump known as on National Football League team owners to flame players that do not stand during the national anthem before games.

The Bennett narrative was based on a photograph that was modified to show him holding a burning U.S. flag at a locker room as his teammates, such as Sherman, appeared.
Sherman hasn’t yet been discharged from the group. In reality, he had been lately featured within an Oct. 13 article on the Seahawks’ site about him seeing a young fan in the hospital.
